Beginning...

So I'm writing a new blog... this is the beginning.

I love to blog, but I'd kinda gotten out of the habit of it after I graduated from college and moved back in with my parents, who still think dial-up qualifies as internet. Now I'm married and live in a house with my tech-savvy husband, who insists on nothing but the best wi-fi. So back to blogging it is.

Not much to say right now: a bit about me--married, like I said. Mid-twenties. Live in the southern United States. Work as a middle and high school science teacher. I like my job, mostly. But my husband thinks it stresses me out too much and would secretly like me to quit. If I ever do quit teaching, I'm going back to college to get a masters or PhD. I want to teach always. Just maybe at a little higher level. And I like to do research, too. My favorite memories from college involve me either a)with a huge stack of books on the 3rd floor of our library, by myself at night, handwriting on college ruled looseleaf some 10-20 page research paper or b)up to my elbows in test tubes and centrifuges while I helped my biology professor do genetic research over the course of one summer. Those were the good times. :D

I suppose I am a nerd. I like to think of it as 'academic.' I married an electrical and computer engineer, and my husband is probably about three times smarter than I am. Now he can be the nerd. :D
